Are towels provided on board the yacht?
Bath and hand towels are provided for use on board, we provide 1 large towel per person per week this will help with the baggage allowance on board your flight. Please bring your own beach towels.
How far can we sail during our sailing holiday?
The distance that a typical charter yacht can sail will vary between customers, some customers like to sail daily from port to port, with some customers saying an extra day if in a favourite location.
On average the below is a typical week and fortnight’s charter.
1 – week yacht charter holiday from Gouvia marina Corfu you can explore the beautiful islands of Paxos with beautiful overnight stops at Gaios and Lakka and Anti-Paxos is a short sail to the south for lunch and visit the attractive harbour’s of Sivota and Plataria on the Greek mainland..
2 – week yacht charter sailing holiday you can sail south to the islands of the Southern Ionian, including Lefkas, Meganissi, Ithaca and Cephalonia. The 30nm passage from Paxos to Lefkas gives an enjoyable day’s sail between island hopping. Unless you decide to stop on the route down at Preveza on the Greek mainland.
The following book will be on board, but for further information on the sailing area and to get to know the island further please click HERE

All our yachts have been safety coded and have passed an inspection by the relevant authorities and carry an extensive list of safety equipment, e.g. Life raft Lifejackets, EPIRB, DSC VHF radio etc.
What about fuel for our yacht?
Your Charter yacht will be presented to you with a full tank of Diesel, this should last for a one-week charter and possibly two week’s, depending on the amount of motoring you do. Diesel is available at some Ports either by Pump or Road Tanker at the quayside. The yacht must be returned back to our base at the end of your holiday with a full tank of Diesel, there is a fuel berth on the entrance to Gouvia marina.
What time can we get access to our yacht – and when do we have to bring it back?
Your Chartered yacht will be available from 16:00 on the day of arrival for you to unpack and settle in or depart, The yacht must be brought back ideally the evening before your departure day and to facilitate the turnaround be departed at 09:00.
The shore crew then spends the next few hours cleaning the yacht and checking, polishing, filling water tanks, replacing towels/linen etc.
The shore crew have a lot of preparation to do, before it is ready for our guests to step on board. Please discuss this with us in advance if this would cause you any problems.
Can we drink the water from the yacht tanks?
You can but we wouldn’t recommend, as most water got off quays is not filtered. Bottled water is very cheap to buy and you can buy frozen bottles which helps to keep your fridge cool when the engine is not running. Keep the tank water for showering and washing dishes.
What sailing qualifications do I need to charter a Bareboat yacht?
This is an important section so please take the time to read it with care.
To satisfy the requirements of our insurers and the Greek authorities STB Charter require that the Skipper holds an ICC (International Certificate of Competence), proof of these qualifications will be requested at the time of booking and it is important you take the original with you on holiday.
Obtaining the ICC is very straightforward to obtain if you already hold a minimum of the RYA Day Skipper qualification – just get in contact with the RYA and they will send you the relevant forms, alternatively click here to go straight to the form – you must leave a minimum of 21 working days for this.
Additionally it is also required that at least one person aboard the yacht, in addition to the skipper, is competent to operate the yacht, this person will need to either be qualified as above or will need to sign a declaration stating their competence.
If there is anything that we can help with in respect of the above or anything which you or your party are unsure about please do not hesitate to contact us.
A Skippered charter is available for people without a qualification, or you can learn to sail through a local RYA Sea School.
